
Arrested in Lagos: Ritualist Caught Transporting Human Organs
The Lagos State Police have apprehended a suspected ritualist named Samson Oghenebreme, who was discovered with human remains in the Odomola community within the Epe region of Lagos State.
The official spokesman for the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated in a release on Friday that the 25-year-old suspect was apprehended on April 25 following intelligence provided by citizens regarding unusual activities linked to him. This tip was relayed to operatives stationed at the Odo-Noforija Division.
He mentioned that an initial probe found out the suspect was moving the organs from Edo State to a traditional healer for profit-driven superstitious practices.
Hundeyin stated, “Agents from the Odo-Noforija Division apprehended an individual named Samson Oghenebreme, who is 25 years old, within the Odomola community in Epe. He was detained on April 25, 2025, after being found with human organs in his possession. This arrest came as a result of reliable tips provided by local residents regarding unusual activities exhibited by the suspect.”
The initial inquiry found that the suspect was moving the organs from Edo State to a traditional healer with the aim of conducting profit-driven rituals.
He mentioned that the retrieved human organs were kept at the General Hospital in Epe for safekeeping, while the matter was handed over to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and potential prosecution.
The public relations officer also revealed that the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Olohundare Jimoh, praised the rapid reaction of the officers involved as well as the alertness demonstrated by the residents of the Odomola area.
He pointed out that the CP stressed the significance of rapid data dissemination, which was crucial for the swift capture of the suspect.
