Mainpower Warns of Widespread Disconnects in Enugu: Urgent Call for Payment from Overdue Customers

ENUGU

– The administration of Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has informed clients in Enugu that they should settle their electricity bills for this month due to the planned large-scale disconnecting of overdue accounts.

Mr. Emeka Ezeh, the spokesperson for Mainpower, issued a statement from Enugwu on Friday advising clients in the Abakpa, Awkunanaw, Nsukka, and Ogui areas to settle their bills promptly to prevent potential power outages affecting both commercial activities and residences.

As per his statement, customers should settle their dues prior to the arrival of the disconnection team at their location, rather than waiting for Marketers to call on them, so as to evade having to pay a reconnection charge.

The energy bill for consumption during the last month is anticipated to be settled by the 15th day of the following month.

Customers who have outstanding balances are advised to settle their dues or benefit from the ‘Accelerated Settlement of Arrears Project (ASAP)’ discount program.

Payments can be made either at the Mainpower Electricity Cash Offices or at the collection agent locations.

“Make payments on schedule to avoid the hassles of disconnection or additional fees,” he stated.

The spokesperson mentioned that once payments are made, Mainpower Electricity will have improved capabilities to enhance customer service.

“At Mainpower, we continue to dedicate ourselves to providing enhanced services to our valued customers,” he stated.
