Nepal Seeks Strategic Partnerships with Bangladesh in Key Sectors

On Friday, Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari highlighted the escalating pace of economic collaboration between Bangladesh and Nepal, which can be attributed mainly to the newly established energy trading and the rising number of tourists traveling between the two countries. This progress was reported from Dhaka on May 10.

Recognizing the crucial part played by businesses, the Ambassador encouraged Bangladeshi attendees to forge alliances with their Nepalese peers to enhance collaboration in sectors such as trade, energy, tourism, and connectivity, along with other fields.

He spoke during an event titled “Nepal-Bangladesh Cooperation: Dynamics of Trade, Tourism, and Connectivity,” which was hosted by the embassy in Khulna later in the day.

Deputy Secretary Yojana Bamjan delivered a presentation emphasizing crucial aspects of bilateral collaboration.

Questions and issues raised by the attendees were tackled during an interactive session after the presentation.

The Police Commissioner of Khulna, Mr. Zulfikar Ali Haider, the Additional Divisional Commissioner Debprosad Paul, the Administrator of the Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nurul Hai Mohammad Anas, along with representatives from tourism enterprises located in Khulna, also shared their thoughts.
