Mumbai (Maharashtra), India – On March 17, ANI reported that actor Sunny Deol’s film ‘Ghatak’ will have a re-release on March 21.
On Monday, the official Instagram account of the Red Lorry Film Festival announced, “Get ready for the comeback of an iconic film! GHATAK will be back on the silver screen at our festival. Experience the thrill anew on 21st March 2025!”
The legendary action movie ‘Ghatak,’ starring Sunny, was released during Diwali in 1996. It marked 28 years since its debut last year.
Action movies continue to be beloved by audiences due to their compelling narratives, strong acting, and iconic lines.
To mark the special event, the ‘Gadar’ star posted a nostalgic clip on Instagram showcasing some of the movie’s most memorable moments and lines.
Sunny paused briefly to honor the memory of the esteemed actor Amrish Puri, who portrayed Kashi Nath, a notorious crime boss in the film. The compelling portrayal of this intimidating antagonist by Amrish Puri stood out as one of the key elements of Ghatak.
In addition to sharing the video, Sunny commented, “#Ghatak at 28 years old! My Diwali release from 1996! Directed by #RajKumarSantoshi, I miss you #AmrishPuri sahib.”
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the movie featured notable performances from Danny Denzongpa and Meenakshi Seshadri.
