A press release from Yinka Oyebanji’s media advisor, Yinka Oyebode, which was distributed on Monday, disclosed that Oyebanji shared these remarks in Lagos on Sunday after receiving the Silverbird Man of the Year Award.
The accolade acknowledged the governor’s efforts towards national progress.

Today’s accolade mirrors the backing we’ve received from individuals—the some of them joining us here today, those residing in Ekiti State, and many more scattered across the diaspora. I sincerely thank each one of our allies and backers, including past governors, senate chiefs, representatives at both national and state levels, council executives, and business collaborators whose contributions were crucial in keeping our pledges to the citizens of Ekiti alive. This recognition belongs to all of you.
