US Deports Hundreds of Alleged Venezuelan Gang Members to El Salvador: International Reaction Continues

More than 200 Venezuelans, allegedly linked to gangs, have been deported to a high-security prison in El Salvador, despite a court ruling ordering a temporary halt to the deportations.

Salvadoran President

Nayib Bukele

stated on social media that 238 individuals from the Venezuelan gang

and 23 members of

has reached the nation.

Neither the United States nor El Salvador have made public the identities of the detainees or offered proof supporting claims about their supposed ties to gangs.

A federal judge contended that the

The administration couldn’t use an 18th-century law to legitimize the deportations, yet the aircraft transporting the prisoners were already airborne.

verified that the inmates have been moved to El Salvador’s Terrorist Detention Center, a high-security prison recognized for its rigorous environment.
