Olympia Chamber Orchestra presents “Dreamscapes”:

This concert begins at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Capital High School Performing Arts Center, 2707 Conger Avenue, in west Olympia. The program features Dream Machine by Brian Balmages, GliUccelli (The Birds) by Ottorino Respighi, and Franz Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony. Tickets can be purchased at

on the “Performances” page. General Admission is $25; seniors, post-secondary students and military pay $15; high school students and younger pay $5.


Fisher Scones wagon at Bayview Thriftway:

Free concert at Huntamer Park:

The city of Lacey is hosting a free concert starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Huntamer Park, 629 Woodland Square Loop SE. The Pan Wizards Youth Steel Orchestra is a 34-player ensemble of high school musicians who have been playing steelpan since the fifth or sixth grade. The group is the flagship ensemble of Steel Magic Northwest, a Seattle-based nonprofit founded by the band’s director and drummer, Garry Gibson. The group’s repertoire and performances are family friendly. The group tours regionally to as far away as Montana, northern Vancouver Island, central British Columbia, and coastal Oregon. This performance is the last stop on their 2025 tour.


Civics 101 Trivia Night:

As a conclusion to the Civics 101 workshops hosted by the Olympia Timberland Library, The Bus Stop at 107 Seventh Ave SE (the old Greyhound bus station) is hosting this opportunity to put your civics knowledge to the test with a friendly and slightly competitive Civics Trivia Night. Bring a team of 4-5 or join a team at the event for the opportunity to win prizes and civic admiration. The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Questions will include some of the topics discussed in the Federal, State, and Local Civics 101 workshops, but previous workshop attendance is not required to participate.


SOGO Brass Choir Bon Voyage Concert:

The
Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia
‘s Brass Choir will put on a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Calvary Chapel, 919 Division St. NW, Olympia. The concert is a chance to bid farewell to the students ahead of their trip to Croatia.

Readers Theater Unlimited presents two plays:

Catch two short plays from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the Lacey Senior Center, 6757 Pacific Ave. SE, Lacey. One play is “Not My Cup of Tea,” a farce in which spinster daughters decide to do away with their elderly mother. Meanwhile their mother decides it’s time to do away with her daughters. The second play is “So Great To See You!” A comedy in which Carol and Roger have surprise guests from long ago. Find out how they handle this socially awkward (but common) situation. Admission is free.


South Sound Wildlife Tracking 101:

The art of wildlife tracking is a journey into studying the animals and living things all around us. This short lecture, from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Lacey Timberland Library, is a great place to begin. South Sound Wildlife Tracking 101 will help you build a foundation of core concepts used in animal track and sign, offer interactive activities to see tracks and signs of local animals, and provide an opportunity to connect with other nature enthusiasts in the South Sound. Resources and field guides will be shared so you can continue practicing on your own. For teens and adults. New trackers, experienced trackers and nature enthusiasts alike are welcome. This workshop is led by Wilderness Skills Instructors and Wildlife Trackers Ryan Johnson and Licia Sahagun from Firecraft Northwest. Space is limited and

Capital City Pride Festival:

The annual festival is happening June 27-29 in Olympia. Festival highlights include a Block Party from 4–8 p.m. Friday at Fifth and Water, including a variety show with local artists, drag entertainers and games; a Pride Soirée from 8–11 p.m.Friday at Wild Child Taps (21+, ticketed); a Music & Art Fest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Port Plaza and Percival Landing, with live bands, DJs, drag and more; a LGBTQ+ Health & Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at The Olympia Center, with panels and workshops; a Pride Variety Show from 7–9 p.m. Saturday at the Capitol Theater (21+, ticketed); a Dance Party starting at 10 p.m. Saturday at Wild Child (21+); the Pride Parade and Rally from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, traveling from Tivoli Fountain to Heritage Park; Dyke Day in the Park from 2–5 p.m. in Heritage Park; and a Queerly Hilarious comedy night from 6–8 p.m. Sunday at Wild Child (18+, ticketed).


Ridge Motorsports Park Rock Revival:

Join Ridge Motorsports for a night of live rock music featuring performances from Spin Doctors, Saliva, and LakeView. The concert is the first of four concerts the park is hosting this56 summer. Ridge Motorsports is at 1060 W Eells Hill Road, Shelton. Doors open at 4:30 pm with show times from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $43 for General Admission (lawn chairs allowed); Premium GA for $58 (lawn chairs allowed); and Pit Tickets for $81 (standing room only).


Shoestring Circus returns to Olympia:

Shoestring Circus returns to Olympia, with shows scheduled multiple times a day from June 27 to July 6 at Swantown Marina on East Bay in Olympia. Step inside the big top turned art museum for a brand new show for all ages. The Museum turns the big top into a living gallery where circus meets art in dazzling, unexpected, and absurd ways. See jugglers, aerialists, contortionists and more from Cirque du Soleil, Broadway, and beyond in this high-energy experience. (Shoestring Circus is an all-human spectacle.) Admission is $33 for adults; $16 for those 3 to 13 years old; with front-row reserved seats going for $42. Children 2 and younger do not require a ticket but must share a seat with a ticket holder. Grant reopening of the Tumwater Timberland Library:

After months of updates and improvements, the Tumwater library will reopen its doors. Join the ribbon-cutting at 11 am Saturday, then be one of the first to tour the remodeled space while participating in activities, eating treats, and more. Admission is free. The library is at 7023 New Market St SW, Tumwater.


Traditional Vietnamese Music Recital
:

The Lacey Timberland Library is hosting this concert from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 28. Local musicians Tri Âm Hoà Điệu and their accompanists will showcase a variety of zithers, lutes, and other stringed and percussive Vietnamese instruments. This recital will also feature student performances. The library is at 500 College St. SE, Lacey. Admission is free; the program is suitable for all ages and children are welcome.


WET Science Centers program on Beneficial Butterflies:

Bring on the butterflies! Join the center and City of Olympia Park Stewards to create colorful crafts and build a butterfly feeder to invite pretty pollinators to your yard. Activities run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the center, 500 Adams St. SE, Olympia. Admission is free.
